in all homes through regular use, there are several
other factors that can increase the need for
air duct cleaning:
Pet hair and dander
Allergens and irritants
Microbial growth
Household dust
Smoke and cooking odors
Renovations or construction

What is the Certified
Cleaning Process?
There are
two key components to HVAC cleaning: breaking
contaminants loose, and collecting contaminants.
Breaking Contaminants Loose
Properly
cleaning HVAC systms requires removing the
sources of contamination. Source removal begins
with the use of one or more agitation devices
designed to loosen contaminants from the surfaces
within the heating and A/C system
Collection of Contaminants
The entire
HVAC system is placed under continuous negative
pressure (vacuum) to prevent the spread of
contaminants. Continuous negative
pressure allows very small particles to be
removed from the system as they become airborne,
ensuring that rhese particles are not released
into the living space when the system is turned
on after cleaning.
Dryer
Vent Cleaning
According
to the US Product Safety Commission, clothes
dryers with poorly maintained exhaust systems
are associated with fires resulting in death
and injury. Other important reasons:
Too much energy consumption
Additional drying time
Poor moisture removal
Increased wear and tear on the dryer
Reduces animal nesting
Performed
on a proactive basis, dryer vent cleaning and/or
inspections promote safety, good efficiency
practices, and peace of mind.
Frequently
Asked Questions
How
often should our air ducts be cleaned?
A
home's air ducts should be cleaned every
three to five years. Homeowners with children,
pets, respiratory issue or a compromised
immune system may want to get their HVAC
duct system cleaned more often.
How
much time does it take to clean the air ducts
in my home?
The typical
single family home's air duct system takes
between 2-4 hours to clean Newer homes, town
homes and condominiums may take less time to
clean.
Does the
cleaning process make a mess in our home?
No, our
technicians are equipped with the highest
quality and most state-of-the-art duct cleaing
equipment. All vacuum devices used in our process
utilize HEPA filters (High Efficiency Particulate
Air). This filtration is rated at 99.97% at
.3 microns
Are chemicals
used in the cleaning process?
No, chemicals
are not used unless required by an industrial
hygenist or a certified restoration contractor.
In the event chemicals are required, we will
only use an EPA rehistered antimicrobial solution.
Do
you have to cut any holes in the ductwork?
We typically
cut a hole (service opening) in the supply
air duct and in the return air duct in order
to clean most effectively. All service opening
covers meet or exceed industry standards as
defined by NADCA and SMACNA.
